Terms of Use

Last updated 10 September 2026

The short version

  • You must be 18 or over, and so must your partner.
  • She must know you are using Tend and agree to it. This is a condition of use, not a suggestion.
  • Tend is not a medical device, a fertility tracker or a form of contraception. Never use it to avoid or achieve pregnancy.
  • Tend+ renews automatically. Nothing is charged until Tend has learned three of her cycles, and we warn you a week beforehand.
  • Using Tend to monitor, pressure or control someone will get the account closed.

1. Agreement

These terms are between you and [Company name] ([company number]), registered at [registered address], United Kingdom. By creating an account or using Tend you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

2. Who can use Tend

You must be at least 18. Tend must not be used to record information about anyone under 18, in any circumstances. You need a compatible device and an internet connection, and you are responsible for keeping your login secure.

3. Consent is a condition of use

Tend records health information about another adult. You may only use it if your partner knows you are using it and agrees. During setup you will be asked to confirm three things, and confirming them falsely is a breach of these terms:

  • She knows you are using Tend
  • You will not use it to argue that her feelings are "just hormones"
  • She can see, change or delete anything in the app

She may withdraw her agreement at any time, through her access link or by contacting us. If she does, your access to her data ends and the data is deleted. We will act on her request without needing your permission.

Acceptable use. Tend must not be used to monitor, track, pressure, coerce or control another person, or to build a record of someone without their knowledge. We will close accounts where we have reasonable grounds to believe this is happening, and we may do so without notice or refund.

4. What Tend is not

Tend provides general educational estimates and relationship-support suggestions. Menstrual cycles vary considerably between people and between months. Predictions are estimates based on the information recorded and are not medical conclusions.

  • Tend is not a contraceptive. It must never be used to avoid pregnancy. It is not a fertility awareness method and does not track the physical signs those methods rely on.
  • Tend is not a fertility tool and must not be used to try to conceive.
  • Tend is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or monitor any condition.
  • Ovulation cannot be confirmed from calendar dates. Any window shown is an estimate.

Nothing in Tend replaces professional advice. If symptoms are severe, sudden or distressing, speak to a doctor.

5. Subscriptions, trials and billing

The free plan

Tend is free to download and the free plan is permanent. It includes her phase and cycle day, the phase guide, period logging, the calendar, unlimited check-ins, her access link, all privacy controls and the Learn section. We will not paywall data export, entry deletion, account deletion or her access.

Tend+

Tend+ costs $34.99 per year or $6.99 per month, in local currency where your app store supports it. Prices include applicable taxes where required.

The trial

Tend+ is free until the app has recorded three of your partner's cycles, which typically takes around three months. If her cycles are irregular or you record little, the trial lasts longer. Nothing is charged during it.

Renewal and cancellation

  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • We send a reminder approximately seven days before your first charge, and again the day before.
  • You can cancel at any time in your Apple or Google account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Tend+ until the paid period ends, then move to the free plan.
  • We do not offer weekly billing.

Refunds

Purchases are processed by Apple or Google and refunds are handled under their policies, so refund requests should go to them. Where UK or EU consumer law gives you a cancellation right, including any cooling-off period that applies after a free trial ends, we will honour it and provide a proportionate refund where required. This does not affect your statutory rights.

6. Your content

What you record stays yours. You give us a limited licence to store and process it solely to provide the service. We do not use it to train advertising systems and we do not sell it. See the Privacy Policy for detail.

7. Our content

The Tend name, logo, design, code and written content are ours and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app, or use our brand without written permission.

8. Availability

We aim to keep Tend running but cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely we will give reasonable notice and let you export your data first.

9. Liability

Tend is provided on an "as is" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for decisions taken on the basis of estimates shown in the app, or for any pregnancy, health outcome or relationship outcome. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app, which deletes her data with it. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, particularly section 3.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Tend after that means you accept the new version.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your local law.
